Crusty wholegrain bread (gluten-free, vegan, yeast-free)

Is there anything better than fresh bread? The smell, the texture, the flavour. It's irresistible. I was once a bread fiend! I ate it every day for years without fail. I spent good money on good bread no matter how little money I had. I made a point to find great local bakeries and try their many varieties. Nowadays I rarely eat bread, in fact the last time I ate it was a couple of seasons ago when I made some for this blog. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against bread -- gluten-free bread on the other hand... Let's face it -- gluten free bread is often too dry, too dense, concentrated with bad-for-you ingredients like corn starch, and insanely over priced. $9 for a loaf of bread that will likely die a cold and lonely death in my freezer? No thanks... The thing that really annoys me about so many commercial gluten free breads is that it seems as if there are only two options for consumers -- overpriced and terrible tasting, or just as overpriced and nice-ish ...

Gluten-Free Granola Step by Step

What do you eat for breakfast? People seem to love convenience -- especially in the morning. There are so many cereals, snacks, breads, yogurts and other products out there to take the guess work out of your breakfast routine. I'm a big believer in homemade whenever possible. Why pay $15 for a small packet of gourmet gluten-free granola when you can make your own for a fraction of the cost while you watch tv? Just why? I should also mention I almost never eat cereal for breakfast -- I prefer it at night! Though its not part of my morning routine, I love granola for the taste but also for the practicality of it as a homemade food. Its one of those super easy recipes that you can make a ton of all at once and live off of for days or weeks (well, for breakfast anyway). My husband loves it too so I make it fairly often and change it up with different combinations of mix-in ingredients like nuts, seeds and dried fruit. Because this recipe is so simple I created a step by step visual gui...

Baked Fish N Chips (Vegan, GF, Soy-free)

I recently discovered a fantastic youtuber named Edgy Veg . I'm not sure exactly if it was her idea to substitute eggplant for fish in her recipe for vegan fish n chips (she mentions it in her video in a way that suggests she didn't come up with the idea) or if she picked up the idea from other vegans. I'm guessing that this is a well known idea that I just stumbled on -- like seeing a recipe for vegan "tuna" featuring chickpeas for the first time -- its definitely new to you, but its been done. Either way I'm grateful to have stumbled on it and happy to report that I gave it a go and it was amazing. PLEASE NOTE: I DID NOT FOLLOW HER RECIPE, THE RECIPE BELOW IS MY OWN. After watching Edgy Veg's video for veganized deep fried fish n chips I merely took away the idea to use eggplant as a fish substitute, created my own new cooking method and changed the batter ingredients dramatically to make this recipe gluten free and pretty healthy -- oh and baked not fri...
